Progress Update, October 2024
RE:VISION West’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (Hosted by the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce) was a rousing success! With your help, we’ve officially launched the first Shibusa Systems Home of the Future on the West Coast.
Wow! What an amazing event with an equally amazing crowd! We had the President of the Monterey Chamber of Commerce, Monica Lal; the Mayor of Monterey, Tyller Williamson; and Supervisor Elect, Kate Daniels all say a few words about the importance of the work that we’re doing to make a dent in the Workforce Attainable Housing shortage here on the Central Coast.
Tours were given of the home's interior and the consensus seemed to be that more of these units need to be built to provide quality, healthy, eco-friendly, resilient, visually pleasing, AND economical homes for the workforce.
We’re looking forward to doing just that in short order! Our next project, also in partnership with Shibusa Systems, will be 15 units of housing in Marina, set up as three multi-family buildings, hopefully breaking ground mid-2025. Stay tuned for information on the progress of that development.
In the meantime, enjoy the photos of the event!
Warmly,
Diane and Brendan
