Hello from Re:Vision West!
While I’ve had one-on-one conversations with many of you in the past months, the blog is overdue for an update and I’ve got much to catch you up on.
A rendering of the in-progress house
First and foremost, I am so pleased to officially announce that we’ve been working closely with Shibusa Systems, an exciting early-stage startup that makes economical, sustainable, and climate resilient housing using their proprietary Precision Component Onsite Assembly process, to build the first home in California to use the Shibusa approach.
The home, which will be a 3 bed, 2 bath single family home, is being built right here in Monterey in collaboration with some exciting community partners. We’ve just started going vertical, so you can expect us to get back on a more regular update schedule for the rest of the summer.
We’ll also be able to welcome a limited number of visitors onto the build site during the second half of July, so email hello@revisionwest.com if you’d like to come check out the progress.
In the meantime, we’ve got our hands full with the usual number of construction curveballs (including, most recently, finding a groundwater stream on our build site– luckily not an obstacle, but never a dull day!), so I’ll keep today’s update brief.
More to come soon,
Diane and Brendan
